What I collect, and what I do with it.

Short version: I collect the details you type into a form so I can reply to you. I don't sell anything to anyone, I don't run ad trackers, and you can ask me to delete your information at any time.

Who I am

Velvet Cloud Tech is a sole-operator IT and cloud consultancy based in the New Haven / Hamden, Connecticut area. If you have a question about anything on this page, email help@velvetcloudtech.com.

What I collect

When you send a form. The contact form collects your name, email address, business name (optional) and your message. The free-audit form collects your business name, website (optional), email address, a description of your current issue, and an optional budget range. Nothing else is collected, and there are no hidden fields beyond a spam trap that bots fill in and people don't.

When you book a call. The booking calendar is provided by Calendly. When you pick a time, Calendly collects your name, email address and any answers you give it, and sends me the booking.

Automatically. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and abuse prevention. I don't run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site trackers.

Who else touches your information

I use a small number of third-party services to run this site. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Formspree — delivers form submissions to my inbox. Their privacy policy.
  • Calendly — runs the booking calendar. Their privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare — hosts and serves the site. Their privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — serves the two typefaces this site uses. Your browser requests them from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address.

I do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and I don't share it with anyone beyond the services listed above.

How long I keep it

Form submissions live in my email and in Formspree's dashboard. If we don't end up working together, I delete the thread within 12 months. If we do, I keep what's needed for the work and for normal business records.

Client data during a project

If you hire me, I may be given access to your systems, accounts, or customer data in order to do the work. That access is used only for the work you asked for, is never copied anywhere it doesn't need to go, and ends when the project ends. You own your accounts and your data throughout — I don't hold anything hostage, and I hand over every credential at the end of a project.

Your choices

You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email help@velvetcloudtech.com and I'll handle it within 30 days. There's no form to fill in and no hoops.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. The Calendly booking embed on the audit page may set cookies belonging to Calendly when it loads.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
